The effect of choice theory training on responsibility, resilience, and hope of female high school students

Background:
Considering the importance of adolescence in people's lives and the importance of responsibility, resilience, and hope in this period as individual characteristics with high mental health, the present study was conducted to teach the choice theory of responsibility, resilience, and hope in high school for girls.
Method:
This quasi-experimental study was performed on 40 high school girls in 1399-1400; Responsibility, hope, and resilience questionnaires were completed once before and after the intervention, and participants were randomly divided into intervention and control groups. The members of the intervention group were trained in 8 sessions of 90 minutes based on the components of choice theory the concepts of responsibility, hope, and resilience. Analyzes were performed using multivariate analysis of covariance using SPSS v24 software.
Results:
The main findings of the study show that the intervention had a significant effect on the variables of responsibility, hope, and resilience at the level (P <0.01).
Conclusion:
According to the research findings, teaching choice theory can be used as an effective solution to increase students' responsibility, hope, and resilience.
