Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of self-compassion on attachment and separation anxiety in hospitalized adolescents. Method: The design of the current research was a semi-experimental research with a control group with pre-test and post-test in terms of practical purpose and in terms of data collection method. The statistical population included all adolescent patients with physical diseases hospitalized in Tehran's Erfan hospital in the summer and fall of 1401, from which 40 people were selected through the available sampling method and based on random replacement in two groups of 20 people, experimental and alternative control and the experimental group underwent self-compassion-based therapy (CFT) in 10 90-minute sessions and answered the Collins and Reed attachment questionnaires and adult separation anxiety disorder (2003). Finally, the data were analyzed through multivariate covariance analysis and using spss-23 statistical software. Findings: The results showed that the F value calculated for the components of avoidant insecure attachment, ambivalent insecure attachment (from the variable of vulnerable attachment) and the components of separation anxiety, excessive talking, sleep disturbances and worry about harming others (from the separation anxiety variable) It was significant and the experimental group had lower scores in these variables and improved more. Discussion and conclusion: This treatment method was used in the treatment of people with insecure attachment and separation anxiety, especially in the hospital environment where patients sometimes experience a decrease in mental health.
